Sharing a vid from our first show last August... It was to raise money for a friend battling cancer. We were the openers that night for an all punk rock show... for a first show it went pretty well. Also if you wondering which one is me, I'll give you a hint. I'm the big Hawaiian guy on drums ;)

Thanks dude! What can I say, I try :D Yeah our singer literally fractured his femur not too long before this show. The guy is still on one crutch now lol

In Honolulu, Hawaii :) Not the biggest scene around but everybody kinda knows everybody around here. It's a small island.

Hey man, was that for Les from the Quintessentials?

Yeah, I figured it was for him. :( I didn't see the part at the very end. The punk band I was in around 01-03 (Bob's Pet Rock) used to play shows with those guys. My buddy Duane was in our band and then played bass in the Quintessentials for awhile. We played the Pink Cadillac with them a few times and another place. I had heard that he passed away recently. R.I.P.

Man how did I not know you played drums? Love the vid man.

Man I totally remember Bob's Pet Rock, the name at least. And yeah I remember Duane, I think he moved to Florida and doing bike stuff. Back then I played drums in a band called Friend of the Family. One of the guitarist in my current band was from Broken Man and our bassist was from Tweaked... they were around when you guys were around I believe.

Thanks dude! Yeah I have Roland kit too that I actually do play on some recordings.. but a lot of times I just use VST drums due to the late night recording thing.

Cool man! Yeah, you know how the island is brah. People say "small world" but the punk and rock scene on the island is definitely small, or used to be when I was there. Yep, Duane is in Florida. Tweaked does sound familiar. We did a show one time with three other bands and they might have been one of them.

BTW, great job on the drums! I have a Roland kit too and trying to get better and better. Trying to find a good way to record drums into the Reaper program. What recording software do you use with your kit?

Ah well Anna O'brien's use to be Anna Bananas forever. It was bought by the guys that own Irish Rose in Waikiki and O'tooles in downtown, so they gave it a more Irish name lol

Thanks dude. I connect my roland via midi cable to my interface so I can use VST samples that sound tons better than the stock brain I got (TD6). So midi out on the brain module, midi in on the interface. I've been using Addictive Drums 2 for a few years now and like it though I think any VST should work like ez drummer or superior.

So I usually fire up Reaper, Insert a virtual instrument on new track, choose addictive drums 2, then I pick the kit I want and record. First time using you just go to the midi settings in the VST and choose the drum module/brain. They had TD6 as an option so I just chose that and there was nothing to configure.

Thanks brah!!! Hey, BTW you guys remember Gussie L'Amour's outside of the base? I remember they used to get bands there all the time. In fact, I remember Motley Crue played there when they were in their slump for a few years. I used to go there with friends to see the oil wrestling. LOL

Ah Gussies... that place was classic. Was kinda bummed when they closed down. Saw Testament there in 2000 and it was just killer... and totally forgot about the oil wrestling lol.

What a great cause. Big kudos to you guys!

Honestly I guess I was expecting you - cranking out some of those thick monster thrash/death/stoner/sludge riffage you do. :D

(EDIT: Sorry if I didn't describe it right but I'm typing in a hurry.)
