Has anyone tried them and particularly on a Les Paul?
Any thoughts, comments or perhaps another BKP model suggestion?

PS. I'm speculating that they'll be similar to Gibson's Dirty Fingers.

I had one in an American strat. Sounded fat crunchy and had alot of balls. Sounded perfect with my 2203jmp

I've got a set in my ;79 LP Custom and they sound great, plenty of warmth, loads of sustain, plenty of bit in the bridge and nice and creamy in the neck.

I love them ;)

meh!

i've only heard a Rebel Yell, but i'm not getting the feeling that Bk's are anything special, especially for the money. about on par with Duncan.

Anderson and Suhr are where it's at!

DIgging up this old thread, I am thinking o going this route in a Les Paul. I have tried the 500 and hated it, so I wouldn't like this to be similar.

I am not used to ceramic pickups... In other guitars I have:

EMG 81
Suhr Aldrich
BKP Mules
BKP Rebel Yell

I am looking for the 80's hard rock tone... ala Sykes so me quest lead me here after a pickup that is supposed to cope exactly those sounds...

Oh wow, just realized, old thread is old. The 81 has a ceramic magnet.

I have a cold sweat in my main guitar ('73 LP custom)
they really outshined the other sets I had there before (BK nailbomb and motor city afwayu/2nd degree black belt)

never played a gibson dirty fingers, but I doubt they sound anything alike
the gibson dirty fingers is a lot higher output and has different specs (higher DC, extra magnets)

the sweat is great substitute for non-mid heavy medium high output ceramics like the duncan sh-5 and bill lawrence L500XL
it's not a modern sounding pickup like the miracle man I also had, but has a similar vibe to both miracle man and painkiller, but with a tamed down output, better cleans, a lot more versatility
midrange isn't fat, but it's crunchy and very present and its sparkly top really makes a dark sounding les paul stand out
leads and harmonics are very Dimebag-like
very fluid and focused

the neck model is alnico 5, medium/low output and the most versatile, balanced and articulate neck model I've ever tried

I replaced my 500t and 496r with a Miracle Man set. From what I remember they are similar sounding but say good bye to the mud.
