Alright folks; pickup time for me!

Right now, (and per BK recommendations) I'm looking at a VH2 neck and a Rebel Yell bridge. I said those are the two I like along with the Holy Diver and they said that for my applications that the three above are perfect.

Here's the thing though, I'm at roughly $350 for a set of pickups. Damn!

On the other hand, I've heard killer things about MCP.

Wade said the Detroiter would be a good choice for my needs but that's before my new speakers came. Since I got the G12H30/V30 combo happening, my rig isn't an ice pick anymore.

What I need/want is this:

Tight lows
Ripping Mids (Upper for solo cut)
Smooth highs
Bridge: 11-15K
Neck: 8-11K

I want to do a lot of melodic soloing on the neck as well.

I'm also not a total boutique snob but I've had/tried enough Duncan/DiMarzio/Lawrence to know that's not my thing.

This is also serves as a PSA to let y'all know I'm buying and the sooner, the better.

Thanks!

Got the HDs in my solid body LP. Better tuned down, and better under heavy gain. Neck pup is great for solos where you want notes to kind of bend/blur together if you want them to. Depending on your amp, bass notes can be kind of flubby in standard tuning, but maybe that's just me. I do a lot of downtuned chug stuff, and they're better for that tuned lower...all amps are gonna respond differently...never played yours, but that's how these worked for my 6505 and the modded Single Rec, and those amps with a 10 band in the loop were dialed in really tight.

I really dig em though...Pantera to Slashtone with the flick of a switch. Haven't even thought about replacing them, and they've been in there most of a year.

I'm most likely doing the BK Rebel Yell and VH2.

US dealers don't really have what I want and if I have to custom order, I'm going MCP. Only downside is wait time and I want a set before the amp show.

a covered set will cost around $300 + shipping straight from bkp

you have a killer rig
don't be cheap on pickups
they do make a ton of difference, specially through a good amp
if you really want bkp, go bkp
if you want mcp, go mcp

Manilus pickups are also another option if you do not want to wait or pay the higher prices.
