I'm building up some GAS for some Bare Knuckle pickups, so I've been browsing around their website. I really like their Bass/Mid/Treble bar charts on each pickup to give us an idea of the frequency response for each pickup. Does anyone here have enough experience with different Bare Knuckle pickups that you can attest to the accuracy of those charts?

EQ charts are really accurate IMO. However, the output numbers are deceiving if you are used to Duncan's/Dimarzio's. The BKP's feel/sound much lower output than the resistance numbers indicate.

I've got 7 calibrated, varying sets in 7 different guitars.

The charts aren't exactly accurate when not knowing how to decipher them. Furthermore, they're very sensitive to woods and fingerboard materials, as well as height adjustments. Some of the lowest output ups (for instance, the Mules) sound devastatingly beautiful when paired with a high gain head like a Diezel. Conversely, the high output Miracle Mans and PainKillers are outstanding in way ore applications than just da brootz.

They're incredible pups. And take a fair bit of understanding. I tried learning as much as I could about them, but inevitably, I ended up emailing Tim directly; told him the guitar, the amp, the styles of music - and he recommended my first pair. I've never looked back, and when in doubt, I've continued to seek his advice.

He's never done me wrong yet

Mules
Black Dogs
Emeralds
Riff Raffs
Miracle Mans
Painkillers
Holy Divers

That's my current line up.
Peace,
Mo

I think it's really accurate! My Alnico warpig finally showed up Friday and first thing I had to do was roll the deep and bass on my vh4 back more than 50%.
Once I dialed in the correct settings for the pickup I was very impressed. Very meaty with lots of chunk and grind!

Awesome guys! And the Warpig is definitely what I have my sights set on, with its high output and soft highs.

I will do a demo for you,
It's going to be drop B and no leads cause I suck lol

Warpig A5 is hands down the best pick up they make, IMO. Extremely quiet, and I men zero feedback with a high gain amp at stupid volumes, lots of chunk, pleasant high end, and round mids. I have been through a lot of their mid and high output pickups and the Warpig is the best for rock and metal.

Rock and metal is what I want it for. Gonna throw it in my 2000 SG-1 that I've stripped out to have nothing but a kill switch.

"Bests" are subjective.

Holy Divers carry a lot of weight in the rock/metal world too.

Just sayin'

Absolutely agree there. As others have said, it also depends on the guitar you put it in and the amp you play it thru too.
