What would be a good price to list my VH4 for? It's not been gigged or had its volume past 10 o'clock. Box fresh! I'm only CONSIDERING selling it as I find myself really enjoying the Hagen alot more and want to keep a really simple setup instead of using both amp!

Oh prices in UK Pound Sterling lol

Cheers guys!

Not sure about UK prices, but the last couple of "almost new" VH4s that have sold on Ebay in the US went for around $3k.

It's a bummer, but you are going to take a hit off the new price. It's used, even if only slightly.

You can try it at $3200 or so, however I see more sell around $3000 or a bit lower, unfortunately. These prices are US dollars, so it would be less is pounds sterling. Maybe you could get a bit more in the UK or Europe, not sure.

Best of luck.

Well I guess I'll list it for the cost of a new Hagen! Decided I will sell it on or trade for a AXE FX II (MK2) w/ MFC-101!

I bought VH4 for....
'06 @ £1525
'08 @ £1650
'08 @ £1540

£1500 - £1900 is the UK average based on age and condition, so yours would be just under/around £1900 but its a tough game selling high end/priced amps and you will get many who'll say you loose a £1000 from its retail price the day you bought it, Be strong and hold your guns... some one who'll really want it will pay what its worth.

Well, I guess also to take into consideration is that its only a month old. So i'm listing it for £2100 unless someone offers me a Axe FX II and MFC-101 for it lol

If you can afford to keep it you should, you never know if you taste/style will change and that's a lot of money to loose on a like new vh4

Ditto... better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it lol

Its not about affordability. I just love what the Hagen does more than the VH4. I rather have someone else use it if I'm not.

The sad reality is that everything you purchase, be it musical equipment or a vehicle, takes a big dip in value the minute you own it.

Yep - the thing is, if I've got enough money to buy a VH4 for a few hundred off the new price, then I've almost certainly got enough to spend the extra few hundred, get one that's untouched, and with the 5 year warranty that goes only to the original owner. You have to give someone a reason to go with the used one, and the only way to do that is lower the price. The upshot is that any used amp that doesn't have any functional or cosmetic issues, and isn't particularly rare, and isn't outdated by design changes to newer models, sells in the same price range whether it's used a month or a year or a few years.
