Hi there,
Searching for custom valve amps I landed on this forum and various threads about Baron amps.
A few questions:
Where are these guys based and is there any place that someone can go along and try out the amps?
Are there any specs anywhere eg which models have which features and pricing?
Essentially in my reggae band I use a Marshall TSL122 (currently in the repair shop as the channel switching and reverb fried itself) and in my prog rock band I use a POD2 directly into the PA. The Marshall has some great clean / blues tones but I don't rate it for the higher gain stuff - too fizzy. The POD2 has some great high gain stuff but gets lost easily in the mix - probably cos it's an emulator and not a real amp - and the cleans have an artificial edge to them.
I'd love to find an amp that could serve all of my needs.....hence my questions about the Barons. Any info gratefully received.
Also, anyone in the UK dealt with these guys - obviously I'd need to get converted for 240V and deal with shipping....
Cheers,
Andy
