Bass Through a Guitar Cabinet

Does anyone know which 4x12 guitar cabs (or just speakers) sound good with a bass, and able to handle 100 watts at 8 ohms? I know Chris Squire of Yes plays through a guitar cabinet for half his sound. I'm playing an 8 string bass in bi amped stereo with an Ampeg Pro 4, I like to fill in the guitar parts with the bass.

Why don't I want to hear that? Sounds expensive, most EV stuff is.
 
I was just reading up on the EV speakers, Geezer Butler has been using the same set since 1992, great advice,

I have used two EV-L's with a Mesa Mark IV clean channel and Eq. Worked alot better than I thought it would. I do not know of any other guitar speaker that works well.
 
I guess the EVL's are discontinued but I can still get a set of Zack Wyldes.

I`d love t get my hands on 4 of those :lol: :LOL:
1200 watts of guitar cab :rock:

(They`ll cost me as much as two Marshall 4x12. though, hehehe

They reissued the evl's not long ago.

There is an EV EVM12L classic at 200Watts and the Zack Wyldes that are 300Watt. I have heard they have cheapened them up a bit compared to the old ones, not first hand experience though.

the reason I said it may not be what you want to hear, is that a 412 with 4 EV's is going to weigh a ton, FYI.
 
Has anyone tried Basson cabinets? From what I've read they may do the trick.
 
Cliff Burton used to play through a pair of the old Mesa cabs loaded with EVs.......


Steve Harris uses Marshall cabs loaded with some kind of 12" Bass speakers, I still have yet to find out which ones though.....
 
Is there any reason you don't want to use a bass cab? Or are you looking for a cab that you can use for both bass and guitar?
