This is a new Basson Sound 212 cabinet, MADE IN U.S.A., of all first rate, and heavy-duty components. Rather than the usual Plywood, or the particle board the cheapies are made of, this cabinet is made of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), which is sufficiently hard to be precisely 'machined'. Accoustically, it is well damped, which makes it ideal for speaker enclosures. It has a lower Modulus, and higher density than any wood that I know of.

I actually know what I like, this was for a friend. he was offered a sponsorship with Basson and he wanted to know some stuff about them. I'm a big fan of Bogner and Splawn Cabs![]()

+1. A Basson 4x12 was the first cab I ever owned, and while it was built very well, it sounded harsh, thin, and generally unpleasant. Took me a while to realize it was the cab that made my amps sound so lousy. I wrote a review on HC. Don't know how they got so many glowing reviews, but I did a little bashing.moltenmetalburn":151ubpo2 said:Tell him to run away!![]()
