Can the BE100 be dialed in to do Plexi? From what I read, there is an emphasis on the lower mid range as opposed to the upper midrange. I'm curious as to what twiddling of the dials on the BE100 can do to approximate Plexi tones, or if it even can.

Yeah, sure. Turn the gain down low-ish, crank the master and run more mids & treble, bass back at 4 or so.

it definitely can do lower gain plexi tones IMO, and it can do them really well. They did that video comparison with the SS100 and the diff is almost indistinguishable.

We had a show yesterday at Cherry Cola's here in Toronto and just for shits-n-giggles I figured I'd try something different and see how it goes:
Low (BE) input
Presence: 6
Bass: 4
Middle: 8
Treble: 6
Gain: 8
Volume: 2.5
All option switches OFF
(scale 1-10)

Instant screamin' and cranked Plexi tone. That was through my Mesa Recto 2x12 with V30s. Kicked in Rockett Archer for solos and turned down for cleans.

I've been running it like that for the most part (gain on 6, bass on 4, mids up to 7). Using P90s it is just a killer, cutting tone. It still has lots of gain, more than my usual JCM 800s (I run the preamp gain at about 7 on an 800). I love that I can take this amp to any gig and go from nuclear explosion levels of gain to a really woody plexi tone with a few quick adjustments. Add a low gain pedal to the clean channel for a 3 channel amp!
