This is going back a bit to that graph on diversity of though between the left and right. Nevermind the rest of the video (it's a a slightly different subject).
Tim Pool made a good observation. The gist of it is the diverse red cluster on the right side of the graph represents diversity of thought of the entire country circa 1992. The left side of the red group being your Clintonian era democrats/liberals and the right side is your basic republicans/conservatives. Different ideas, but everyone wanting the same thing and having a unified goal; work together to strengthen the country. Somewhere along the line this cancerous growth; represented by the tiny blue cluster on the left, popped up. Then anything outside of that little bubble became branded as right wing. And just like a tumor the only thing they want and do is destroy from within.
So now you have classical liberals like Tim Pool or Joe Rogan; who in every other reality would be branded as such, getting lumped in with right wing conservatism. He made mention at the end of the video that part of what Charlie Kirk was fighting for was to rid America of that cancerous growth that's taken hold and bring us back to a normalized society; aka the red cluster of the graph.
I'd say that's a pretty spot on assessment.
I'd add to Tim's assessment that I think the graph somewhat represents the population as well. Like if you thought of the size of the clusters as a percentage of the population as well. The big red cluster represents a good 75% of the US and that blue cluster is the fringe 25% or possibly less. Like a tumor, just because it's smaller doesn't mean it can't wreak havoc on the body. Just because it's a smaller percentage of the country doesn't mean it can't have disastrous effects on society as a whole if left unchecked. And that's what we've been seeing for the last decade or so. It does seem like the US has recently gotten a proper diagnosis and we're starting to fight the tumor. The hope is we haven't made it to stage 3 or 4 where the prognosis isn't terminal. Even though Gen Z gets some crap it does look like they are making a larger push toward normalism. It's probably why it was mainly old old fart boomers at the no kings thing. Gen X and later are tired of it and don't want to have much part in that ridiculous crap. We just want a normal society without a fringe minority causing chaos for no reason.
We also see Tim's assessment and my addition on a small scale here in OTC. I'd say the majority here represent the right side of the chart. Fairly diverse schools of though ranging from conservative to classic liberal and can discuss those different ideas. We don't always agree on the details, but for the most part listen to the other argument and at worse agree to disagree. Then the OTC trolls like CouchBoy, Turd_Guitar, and Da Nang Dan make up the tiny blue cluster. The fringe minority who refuse to hear anything outside their thought bubble and screech at the world. Though it's only a couple of them, like a tumor they cause chaos and try to fuck up everything from within.
Anyway, just a little food for thought.
