Beer is cheap here. 24 bottles of 8°+ beers go about 20-25 €. I don't think it's that easy to get into the usa though.

If it's the WW, go to Ypres. Bastogne itself has a lot less to offer than Ypres, which is pretty impressive actually (Menen-gate, the graves, all around Ypres there are a lot of memories kept alive.
Bastogne is quite cool, but has nothing more to offer than your average city in the region. But it has a tank on their marketplace.
West-Vleteren 12 is very hard to get. You have to call the abey on times they put on their site, you can only order 24, and you're checked at the gate that you don't have more than 24 in your car. But...
it's worth it!
(it's a half hour drive from where I live)
Cantillon shouldn't be a problem.

Duvel is nice...since I´m living close to the belgianborder I often drink belgiab beer.
Grimbergen is very fine too.
But I loooove german beer. A while ago I visited the States for 3 weeks and it was pretty cool...but there were 2things missing:
- "real" beer (american beer is thinned water I guess
)
- "real" bread, like "Schwarzbrot" (hated bagels right after 2 days
)

Hey AC, where are you located? I've been to Belgium 6 times and I can't get
enough of brussels. (ever been to rock classic near the gran place?) For a few
years we were going to the zythos festival in saint nicholas (sp?). Great country,
people and beer!
Fav's: Anything by cantillon (especially the lou pepe series), Duvel, Orval, Westmalle
(triple) and as a great standby, Hoegaarden
Heading out to the stuffed sandwich in san gabriel in a few minutes and will definitely
indulge in something belgian thanks to this thread...
