which would you choose, especially thinking of using for live on stage use?

I'm leaving out the boss TU3, as I have it after replacing my TU2, and just cannot find a use for it compared to other tuners. it works, but takes too long for my tastes.

Also left off Peterson tuners, as they take too long to get the strobe to slow down, to me anyways.

which should I order next?

Have had nothing but great luck with my pitchblack. Can be easily seen in dark or bright situations, tracks well, built like a tank.

sonic research turbo tuner.

accurate to within .02 cents - i use it for intonation at home and on stage.

buy it and dont even think about anything else

i'm a big fan of the tc polytune, has stayed on my board since i got it, very fast and easy to read, the polytune feature is just bonus imo

you didnt mention the one that actually is the best and that is the turbo tuner, there is no other close to its accuracy and ease of use, I could go on , oh nothing like a peterson strobe either
+1 these two are both great. The turbo is easier to use but I like the features of the strobo-stomp more...YMMV.

Pitchblack always worked GREAT for me...only thing, as mentioned, is the display sucks in sunlight. If you don't play in VERY bright outdoor gigs, then perfect tuner!

i have a pitchblack. works great but is pretty much unreadable at a bright outdoors show.

+1

I used the Pitchblack at an outdoor gig and it was basically un-usable. However the Boss tuners are great in bright outdoor situations IMO.

Strobe tuners are cool but i never found them easy to use in a hurry. Maybe it is different with the Turbo Tuner...

I would probably go for the TU-2 or TU-3.

i agree, hate the peterson strobe tuners with the spinning horizontal setup with matching lines.

tubro tuner is completely different. if you can watch a quarter spin on a floor, you can use the turbo tuner.

another thing is that you dont have to get it to stop spinning 100% - its accuracy is insane - 1/10,000th of a cent - just get it in the ballpark and go to the next string. its extremely fast as well.

The Turbo Tuner without a doubt. Fast and very accurate.

None of the above. I use two Korg rackmount 1000's. One propped on the pedalboard and the other in the rack. They have big displays and are easy to see and are accurate. The TCE is a pain in the ass for me live, he small Korg is OK. If you are like me and have CSS (can't see shit), the rackmount Korg's are they way to go. As for small box tuners, the best I have found to use is the Sonic.
