Best Bang for the $ 12 string electric?

I am recently getting into the band Big Wreck. Noticed they used a lot of 12 string and I was wanting to try incorporating it into my music. I want a decent 12 string around the $500 range. Doesn't need to be amazing because It would just be used for layering in the studio, but also don't want to just buy some piece of junk that is noisy and wont even intonate.

Yeah I had one of the Dean Boca models. It was cool but felt bulky and a bit awkward and the hollow body may cause problems with stage volume. Never tried it in a band setting either. I always wanted an SG 12/6 double neck. Figured it could serve double duty and not have a thick of a body.

Yeah the Bocas are by no means the best electric 12 string....Just the best bang for the buck...

I would agree that they do feel a bit bulky...But overall, not bad methinks...
