I'm sure there's other great comeback albums, but seriously, does anything beat this one?

LOL, perhaps I need to clarify here. Surgical Steel was their first album after a 17 year hiatus!

Funny you mention Carcass, my buddy just saw them at a metal festival in Europe and he said they weren't very good. Lacked energy, poor performance. What year is the above tune from? I stopped listening to them after Swansong. Figured they just called it quits and moved on but that's like 20+ years ago.

Tempo of the Damned
Painkiller
Creatures of the Night
Revelations of Obliveon

Ok, a couple of those weren’t exactly comebacks after long absences but they may as well have been since they followed up career low point releases.

Totally with you on Painkiller.

My first thought was KISS, but Id go with Lick It Up.
-poor album and ticket sales still with Creatures
-went without the makeup for Lick It Up
-album fucking rips and sounds better than Creatures...

Since I just mentioned KISS Lick It Up, Id offer...

The Grateful Dead In The Dark album 1987
-previous albums didnt sell much, Go To Heaven, the previous album was released in 1980
-no real radio hits
-drugs and bad vibes
-1985 Jerry goes into a diabetic coma
-Touch of Grey is released, album gets to #6 on Billboard Top 200
-Jerry is sober

Is there enough time between Ram it Down and Painkiller for it to be considered comeback? Also, doesn't a band have to call it quits to make a come back? Motley Crue knows all about that.

Artistic comeback. I think Ram it Down is so bad that Turbo is actually a better glam record than Ram it Down is a traditional metal record. Apart from a few awesome guitar solos it has no redeeming qualities IMO.

Totally agree!!!
Except I always liked the Turbo album, minus the song Turbo Lover.
I think its a great album, but I love the brown Priest Live record with all the Turbo songs.

After high school graduation, my buddy enlisted in the Navy and after basic was stationed in Jacksonville, FL.
He came home on leave and I had nothing going on, so we jumped in his '88 RS Camaro and made our way back down south.

We got pretty lit up one night and decided to drive back home.
I grabbed three cases of Lowenbrau and we hit the road!

I drank plenty of beer and got us from Jacksonville, FL to Geneva, NY in 15.5 hours.

All the while drinking beers and the only cassette we had was Turbo, and the cassette player did the auto flip at the end of each side.
That was 15.5 hours of straight driving and the Turbo album.

I admit, I never took the time to fastforward Turbo Lover...

If that was me I would have driven the car straight off a pier in Jacksonville into the Atlantic

Cmon now...
The singer of the Bullet Boys wouldn't approve.

Somehow we drank with him that night.
I goofed on his band and complained to him about the time I saw them open for Cinderella on the Long Cold Winter tour in Rochester, NY hahaha
They were almost as bad as Wingers dancing that night. Winger was second band of the night on that leg of the tour.

I couldn't stop goofing on Smooth up In Ya hahaha
