Hey,
Any recommendations for good ear plugs that doesn't cut so much highs? I've tried two of them and both are cutting so much high frequencies that it's annoying to play. I have earpeace set and it attenuates well, but sound becomes very muffled and very bass heavy, no clarity.

It is physically impossible to retain sound of guitar cab with earplugs. If You want to save Your ears, IEM is the way, with modeler or amp/loadbox/IR.
I never understand this weird fashion…You can play plexi on 10 with finest Reissue Gibson and doesn’t hear difference to Epiphone/Marshall MG rig because You hear only bassy muffled mess ?

IEM is the way to go to control volume and still hear your full frequency range. No ear plug can accomplish the same thing. Your frequencies are cut off. Highs and mids are easier to filter because they require less mass and displacement to cut. Earplugs don't have much of either. That's why the bass comes through so much more and you loss definition (found largely in the mids and highs). Grab custom IEM. Best money ever

I sometimes put on headphones, just plain cheap headphones not noise cancelling or anything and put the cable in my pocket. Not plugged in. They don't cut as much but still cut a decent amount and make the difference between my ears ringing and not.

Thanks for answers! I do have IEM, but i'm not gonna use it at home or in the studio all the time, at the concert yes.

I've seen some people talk positively about Eargasm ear plugs

Good luck
I talk positively about Eargasm ear plugs. I use them for regular ear plugs.

I've also seen a few people I know use their IEMs as hearing protection at shows. I guess ear plugs are ear plugs.

How it was back in the day? Did bands like acdc or metallica really played without any ear protection on huge stages with multiple full stacks? Wonder how long you can play like this without getting tinnitus.

As soon as I started playing live again and joined a band years back I got a set of custom molded musician's ear plugs. Best thing I ever did!

We play smaller clubs so In Ears is still an expensive setup for that and not worth it for us. I know that it is a great setup but I'm not interested in another wireless pack hanging off of me.

is there a specific model you use?

Eargasm, Dubs and Earpiece are all excellent. Any of them will keep your ears safe and let you hear everything you need to

I don’t know about best, but buying some relatively cheap Eargasm earplugs has been a revelation for me.

Stage is quieter than out front. It’s just the damn drums and cymbals
