Best HSS or HH Strat style for $400 or less (new or used)?

A buddy of mine came by last night, and asked to try my guitar...long story short, he's now hooked

Need some suggestions for a non-Floyd strat style, under $400 (new or used)...all suggestions appreciated!

Also,if you are lucky you might be able to find a Fender Road Worn Strat at a Best Buy for around $400. I saw at my local Best Buy a couple weeks ago (here in WI)

Fender MIM HSS strat.....nuff said! I made some changes to mine like putting on Graph Tech saddles and a JB in the bridge. It playes every bit as well as my American HSS strat with the same configuration.

Note: I know it's a shameless spam plug but consdering selling mine.

MIJ Squires are pretty dang nice too. Those or MIM strat gets my vote.

Last yr my buddy got a new hss strat with Floyd in white with rosewood board. The bridge humbucker sounded really good and there are some cool switching options , coil tap, phase , etc. No joke, this mex strat kills some of the high end fenders and Charvels we have owned/played over the yrs and I couldn't find a finish flaw of any kind. Sounds, looks, and feels awesome and after bargaining it was like $465 shipped. If they all are like this one then I can't imagine a better guitar for the price.
