I need something I can record for a intro, example;
We play rock you like a hurricane, I want to be able to record the main riff
Jump out where the solo starts letting the begining riff loop and kill the loop
Right when the verse starts. Also when we play rooster, record a bar of the opening
And let that loop until the chord change so I can play all the little parts over it.
Anyone doing this with a looper pedal? I'm thinking about trying the Ditto X2

whatever you settle on, my opinion is you'll need the looper to feed a separate amp than your signal you will be overlaying, or it just turns to mush, at least it does when i do it into one amp.. figure out a way to a/b.

Bummer.. Thought it might work but yeah most likely will sound like a mess. Defiantly not gonna carry another amp. Maybe a clean tone might be ok. Thanks for the suggestion

The pigtrpnix infinity looper is the one to get if you have the coin. It's very expensive...

I really like the ehx 2880/4500. You definitely need the foot pedal with it though.

all that being said earlier, i've seen people lay a loop down with one "tone" or pedal, then use a different tone...

for instance lay down a nice clean chorused sound through the pedal and amp...and then solo over it with higher gain.....same thing...use two different gain sounds.

i personally would run it a/b/y

looper fed from a
my guitar signal feeding b to a differnt amp
and y runs both.

running a looper in the FX loop is the only way to keep that repeated signal clean and then overlay whatever you want on top. Doesn't work in front of a distorted amp for obvious reasons too well.

I'll give this a shot

This is the way I run my Digitech JamMan solo and it works great. I have backing tracks loaded into my looper and play over them with no issues.

enter a drummer who insists "you play to MY time" lol...

hate those types of drummers.

how about a metronome in your earphones fucko! then you can play to MY LOOPS beyatch (cause i play to my metronome when i loop most of the time)

This. Best one for sure and I'll be grabbing one when I can..

I do this kind of stuff with one amp and it doesn't get messy as long as its clean or a little crunchy. Too much gain and it starts to wash out. The biggest problem in a live situation is getting a drummer to sync up with up with loops (or vise versa). You pretty much need something with midi clock sync and the band needs to wear in ears to do it perfectly. You can wing it with just a decent looper though.
