HI my name is Joseph well Im writing you this thread cause I really need a suggestion Could you guys help me with my dilemma
Im looking for an Amazing amp mostly to play Melodic death metal, and gothic metal (Scar Symmetry, In flames, Soilwork, Sybreed, etc) and some gothic (Unsun, Nightwish), and some metalcore (Killswitch Engage, Threat signal)
and I really like the Engl tone so I was considering these 3 amps:
- ENGL Invader 100
- ENGL Savage
- ENGL SE EL34

Another possibilities appart from ENGL:
- Diezel Herbert
- Framus Cobra
- Mesa Road King 2
- Fryette PITBULL UL
Which one of these would you suggest me? please ....

Kill Switch use boosted Roadsters, sounds like a safe bet to me.

There's always the Twin Jet if you dare.

Isn't it crazy....I bet when Eddie first went to Peavey, he didn't think his sig amp would be on albums like Carcass, Soilwork, In Flames, etc.....I bet he doesn't even like that music. lol

since when is nightwish considered gothic? the vocals?

for you, i would recommend playing engl's before spending $2,000 on one. because not only is each one a totally different in respect to tone and EQ response, they are not as forgiving about what speakers you use, in comparison to other amplifiers like 5150's, windsors, line 6, racked builds, etc.

wrong speakers and an engl will almost guarantee still sub-par tone.

all the amplifiers listed will deliver with the category of metal you prefer. you're asking a question more like what gun should i choose to kill a deer with. each one will do the trick, however better one might be over the other is up to your own decision and tastes.

if you can play those songs note for note, or write songs simillar to them, please post clips. i'd be interested to see your song structures for the chorus' and interludes between verses. i play and write in the same category. :)

Peters or Mako.

Framus Cobra

I don't know about the Herbie, when I think Herbie I think more "progressive" metal. I guess I think of something more raw when I'm thinking of death metal.

So now they are making melodic amps. I will be god damned and fucked. Why didnt somebody tell me this/ that way i wouldnt have to worry about playn melodic shit on my guitar. The amp supposedly would do it for me.

Killswitch is currently using the splawn nitro.

ELMWOOD MODENA m90. Seriously, with the mids going out, it's IMO the amp for melodic death, but not so for metalcore...

again all amps are good, just try 'em amd figure which one gives you the WOW effect

Ok
But what about sybreed´s tone for example I´ve seen that they´ve been using vht pitbull´s and their tone is great,
another hit is the ENGL invader Threat Signal are now using them, Soilwork are also using ENGL now
look at this guy playing some cool videos of the bands listed above he used a peavey 5150 and he is now using an ENGL invader now cause he says that ENGL´s tone is fatter and with more balls...

what do you guys think.....

I still say 5150 and the reason I am saying that is I have owned 5 and always go back to it.

That being said any of the heads mentioned will sound great
