Best MIDI control....

Looking for a midi controller that can do these things:

1.) Control my stomp-boxes; (was thinking it would control them with a VDL pedal switcher bc I like to have my stomp boxes in front of me, I've heard the pedal switcher preserves signal quality.)

2.) Control Rack FX

3.) Have a "preset option" where I can name a track say "welcome to the jungle" and then have my midi control correspond with whatever settings I choose.

4.) Amp switching would also be benefitial but not totally necessary. I am currently having my guitar go through stompboxes and then split to two amps through a boss delay pedal. If there's a better way of running signal to two amps I'd like to do that as well.

I posted on here a few monthes ago and never had a solid understanding of what I should get, I'm new to all of this so try to speak as simply as possible, lol, I confuse easy when it comes to wiring.

thanks guys!

Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro & GCX. Is your amp midi?

i personally like the rocktron xpress midi controller better, combined with either GCX or RG-16, depending on your pocket.

RG-16 will allow you to get a cable from them for your amplifier without investing in medusa cables for your channels and taking up needed space if your amplifier isnt MIDI.

I just listed my gear under my profile, thought it would be helpful. Nope, not midi.

The GCX confuses me but I was leaning towards the ground control pro. Which would do which task?

Hmmm, I know rocktron but haven't investigated that one yet.

I use a Roland FC-300 in the Patch mode. So I can send on different channels at the same time (Amp is CH1, G-Force Ch2 and Looper CH3). The Looper is a G LAB MIDI 4 x LOOP M4L. It works very good and without switching noises and it`s not expensive! The FC-300 has also 2 ampcontrols and 2 Expressionpedals. Buit like a tank. Never had a problem :)

i did a bunch of research and followed everyones suggestions on the ground control pro and GCX combination, but after researching how you program the midi pedals for use with the rack switchers, and how you store your information, the rocktron express and RG-16 setup made the most logical sense to me - down to the initial programming. the ground control unit seemed wierd to have to program and i didnt like the layout nearly as much as the rocktron.

if money was tight i could squeeze a GCX if i had to, but i would save for an RG-16 if you could. the amp cables leave all your loops and relay controls open for what matters most - your signal chain - and wont be taken up by 6 different 1'4" for your amplifier alone to become MIDI. plus you can program your loops and what you want with the push of a button right on the front of the unit which is really cool and quick. overall a design well worth the investment to keep from getting a headache later on down the road.

thats a cool trick

Are you confusing the rocktron express with the rocktron all access?

yes i did, my appologies.

check them out and see what you think
