I joined a country band so I need to put together another pickguard for my strat. Don't think the Duncan distortion/jazz combo will fit the bill

Can I get some good advise? I want something that rocks in the bridge but twangs in the middle and neck

Maybe a little 59 in the bridge and two duckbuckers would do the trick... actually stock fender noiseless or whatever comes in a stock american strat will get the job done.

Tom, do you still have the stock pups i sent with that strat you have?

I have a Lollar Dirtly Blonde set in one of mine, and I really like it. Roll off the bridge pickup's tone control just a bit, and it handles gain very well. The notch positions still do their thing and the neck can really sing.

But a lot of Strat sets can work as long as the bridge pickup is connected to that tone control. Otherwise, it can be a bit zingy, particularly with some gain.

ive been runnin Fralin blues specials 5% overwounds in my g bender tele for years and couldn't be happier..im getting some for my strat soon.

Even though Im selling an incredibly badass loaded pick guard with custom wound Arcane Pickups in the classifieds, Im gonna recommend what i replaced them with for the same reason. A Dimarzio Injector loaded pick guard. I picked one up loaded to the brim with Injectors in the neck and bridge and an Area model in the middle. Noiseless, stratty when it needs to be , Rocks proper when you need that. Bridge is nice and chunky but retains some strat bite, neck is bubbly and funky on clean, singing and sweet on leads. Middle can do all the standard quacky stratty stuff and NO NOISE.

I bought the whole kit and caboodle off of some seller on Reverb that does loaded pick guards for a decent price after he accepted my offer.
If you want a REAL vintage strat vibe with a Hendrix/Frusciante vibe. then go for my Arcanes, they nail THAT.
but they are REAL single coils and have the hum etc.

What he said. The Injectors work great for that style.
