Best Rock Band in the world right now.

What does best mean? Sales? Tour gross? Fans?

Most non guitar players would probably say Foo Fighters. QOTSA has a lot of fans, for me I think they're ok. Don't love them but don't hate them.

I guess a lot of people are going to think Avenged Sevenfold will be the top rock band this week with their new release.
 
First band that came to mind when I read the title was - in fact - QOTSA.

Outside of this? AIC is still rockin' my world regularly.
 
Strictly "rock" rather than metal? I would have to say Steven Wilson.

IDK, I went 2:30 minutes in and just did not dig that. Bad tone, bad vocals. At least to me. If that's the best then I have to agree with all the old farts who say there is no good music coming out today.

Really been into The Pretty Reckless and In This Moment recently. But as long as Ac/Dc and EVH are still touring hard to put QotSA up there in that league.

I love the new QOTSA. They have an original sound and very good song writing IMHO.

My favorite modern band right now is these guys.

Or to put it more shortly [and less sarcasically]... there is NO real "best" anything in music. One man's best band, player, gear, etc... is another's worst.

But hey... I like QOTSA and think they're interesting and bring some cool things to the table. ;)
 
why do you guys think there are not many good rock bands that are mainstream?
