Looking for a high gain liquid lead tone with great harmonics and sustain. Will be blending with Friedman Smallbox. Looking at mesas and diezel. What else should i consider?

Too many choices. So many flavors. ( If money is no object )

:dunno:

Not much else to consider... you're on the money. Mesa MKIII/IV/JP2C ... and/or Diezel VH4.

One of the best lead tones I've heard in person was through a VHT pitbull Ultra lead, no experience with a friedman smallbox though so couldn't recommend anything to blend with it
But the ultra lead is awesome!

If you want liquid leads put a Keeley TS-9 on top of that Smallbox.
You won't find an amp that's better.

Diezel Paul. Enough said. You cannot get better lead tones than a Diezel Paul.

Mark III or Diezel Einstein (which are a lot cheaper the a VH4). The right compressor in front of the SB50 will make it very liquidy too.

I am running a ts808 into the smallbox. Its has a great tone for leads. Wanting to add another amp to take it to the next level

Is the jp2c too raspy. Want smooth liquid legato.

Nothing raspy about the JP2C ... or most any Mark series amp. The shred mode takes you over the top in to super easy to play liquid smooth flowing lead territory. The MKIV is great too.

For Diezel... the VH4 does a very similar core tone on channel 4. Awesome for leads.

Another vote for the Mesa Mark IV - fantastic liquid lead tones.

Gotta say, an old 5150 is pretty badass for leads. They say the guy who they made them for was pretty good.

Mesa Mark IV, or a Diezel Herbert. The VH4 is better for rhythm because of the super dry gain on channel 3, but channel 4 can get really liquidy.
