Hey everyone! I'm awaiting my Ceriatone Molecular and was thinking what speakers would sound great with this head. I love that tight 80's Metallica tone from MOP and AJFA. I don't like flubby sounding orange 2x12 cab with v30's. I'm currently using it with Engl ironball and v30's in that cab has way too much mids for my taste. When i tried ironball with marshall or randall cabs which obviously had different speakers it sounded much better, my Marshall DSL2000 also sounds way better with those cabs. I tried orange with orange head and it really suits it. So i'm thinking about selling orange cab and getting something else with different speakers than v30's. I even tried to pair v30 with g12t75 and didn't like it in that cab still. Guess orange is not for me. I was thinking about g12h30's and evh 2x12 has them or can someone offer their opinions what works the best with Molecular. I don't want to get rid of mids completely, i want balanced, but tight tone, in Ola Englund's words i need some chugga chugga :D .

Marshall amps (or clones) do not agree with V30s from my experience..with the exception of the Jubilee series. I would recommend the H30 anniversary or other GB type, or a G12 65. The Camerons I've owned really love the H30 Anniversaries best. The Molecular is a clone of a Cam Atomica, so I'd roll with the anniversaries first.

Then get yourself a Mesa Mark IIC+, Mark III, or Mark IV.
Welcome to Rigtalk!

I used a Marshall 1936vintage cab with the molecular I had. Which had the Marshall g-12 Vintage in it that worked well. But yeah the tones you are chasing are Mesa. I had a Molecular and currently have a Mark IV. If you want Kill Em All the molecular will get you there but not mop imho

I like the G12H-75 Creambacks. M65 Creambacks would also work well if you want a slightly darker sound compared to the 75s.

Thanks for the answers! I know that they used Mesa amps to achieve those sounds and it was somehow paired with JCM800, I hope that someday I'll get some of the Mark series or rectos. Maybe i said it wrong in my first comment. I love that overall 80's thrash sound which was based on Marshall JCM800 mostly, from what I heard about Molecular it should get me there. I was really thinking about EVH 2x12 with g12h30's, I want tight lows and pronounced highs, sure the mids are important, but I don't want them to overpower whole sound like v30's does.

MOP is really hard to achieve without the Boogie amps. Maybe with an equalizer in the loop u can have better results then change speakers.
Probably G12T75 were used for that album.

Wasn't MOP a 2C+ through a Marshall power section? I'm not a HUGE Metallica guy so I'm going off of memory.....

The 2C++ with the Marshall power section was only for leads.

I was never huge on the H30 Anni's with most amps, but I have to agree they are the are the best sounding speakers I've used with Cameron Jose style circuits.
GreenBack style speakers are good too, but more classic rock sounding to me than the H30.

G12H75 Creambacks have a similar tonal balance to the H30 Anni's, so if you need 100watt power handling in a 2x12, go with those.
Otherwise, for a 4x12 or for a 2x12 with 60watt power handling, the H30 Anni's would be my first choice.

The EVH 2x12's are decent cabs, and are common enough they can usually be found for reasonable prices.
A 50watt Molecular and a black EVH 2x12 would make an absolutely killer rig.

the Orange 2x12 is exactly what you don't want.

I would lean towards the aforementioned H30's

but again you are chasing a Mesa tone.

I'm honestly thinking about getting Marshall 1936 cabinet with g12t75 speakers. I guess it's like smaller 4x12 1960 version, since I liked playing through it I hope I'm gonna like 1936 also. Maybe i could try putting some g12h30's later on. There's also some Palmer 2x12 cab with greenbacks, but i don't know anything about Palmer cabs, but it is way cheaper.

I don't want to create new thread, but maybe someone knows if there's some company in europe that sells broken in speakers, like Avatar's Hellatone? I'm from europe and ordering from usa is really expensive with all the customs and Avatar don't send speakers that far abroad, because it's easy to damage them, as they said.

Original 30 H watters yeah. Anni. 30 watters are one of the worst ive ever used.

Dude, I hear ya!
I used to think the same thing. I could never get the Anni's to sound good with any of my amps.
I only tried them with my "Cali - CCV - Jose" modded amp because of Psychodave's CCV vids with 4x12's full of them.
But FUK me if those speakers don't kill it with Jose circuits.
Takes the blanket off the BE100 when using the SAT switch as well...... (y)
Now I have to keep an Anni loaded 4x12 around just to use with amps doing the diode mod thing.
Some shit just works.....
