Best way to record with an Ipad?

What's the best/easiest way to record guitar tracks with an Ipad?

What hardware and software would I need?

And, finally, can you go direct out of an Axe FX 2 into an Ipad and get great results?

I don't need a ton of tracks, maybe 4 at the most.

The rme interfaces are class compliant and work with the ipad. Focusrite also has some that are getting good reviews.

If it's ONLY for guitar tracks, the Apogee Jam works really well. I run that intoan app called "Auria". There's 24 and 48 track versions...it's a full fledged studio. I think you should be able to run the Axe into the jam and then into the ipad via the dock connector. If you have a newer ipad you may want to make sure the adaptor will work.
