Wasn't the self titled Blue Murder album Mark amps? Pretty sure it was.

Yes--the exact same two Mark III Coliseum amps he used on Whitesnake 87. John still has them sitting on old Boogie 4x12 cabs in his studio but they have not been switched on in many years. But he started using Marshalls again at the time he was doing Blue Murder. So the album has some of each on there.

you know how much of a hero you'd be here if you posted a youtube clip of johnny james sykes firing up his old boogie/2290 whitesnake rig for a little cryin in the rain/still of the night medley, right?

...just don't let adrian vandenburg or rob weir take any solos.... :D

For years I wondered why the ACDC Live album from 92 sounded a little more hi-fi than their usual stuff. Come to find out (and of course I can't seem to find it) they used Boogies on that tour.

Weird Al Yankovic's guitarist Jim West used Boogie for years (he may still).

I've seen Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues use some sort of rectifier on a DVD.

David Gilmour used a Mark III I believe during the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour (though I'm sure with several other amps).

Can't forget Adam Jones of Tool.

They actually did for a bit but switched back to Marshall. I remember reading it in an old 80's rag a long time ago and even when they had mentioned that they were using boogies, I was like REALLY? :D

You can see the backline in this video. Definitely Boogie cabs and if you look on the net you will see threads where a Boogie Preamp/strategy poweramps and boogie cabs were quoted as being used ;)

That makes a lot of sense. Love that vid for the performance and Slade's drumming but the guitar tone is overly saturated and dark for them. It hasn't aged well for me. Also those Marshall 9000 series preamps were just awful. I think Malcolm was using his Wizard (ARD) though on that one.

My vote for a noteable Mark user is Vernon Reid from Living Color.

Cool. AC/DC and Mesa Boogie, I wouldn't have thought it.

Not me either. Now while I have a MarkIV and love it to bits, to me their "TNT" Marshall tone from 1975 us some of the best tone ever. It's so raw and gutsy, and timeless, compared to the late 80s early 90s Bradshaw tone.

The same goes for Andy Summers, his pair of Marshall half stacks with some pedals in the late 70s early 80s beats the rack setup later on.
