Many thanks to Matt Stone at Chubtone for a project we just finished up and I received today. A number of months ago Matt posted a picture of an EVH Bumblebee guitar body that he had gotten back from being painted. I saw it and reached out to see what he was doing with it. He said if I wanted to commit to the guitar, he'd be happy to work with me on finishing the build. I got together with Jimmy Burkard on it as we will use it for MGL amp demos. We thought it would be cool to have the face of the headstock painted gloss black with the small gold Charvel logo like the original neck that was on the guitar when Ed first got it. Matt did a really nice figured, birdseye maple neck with an early Charvel carve and shape. Neck has a slightly amber oiled finish that feels great. Chrome Floyd, double cream Pariah Pasadena Black pickup. All top notch work and the outcome is stellar! Matt was really a pleasure to work with. And lastly, the guitar plays and sounds killer! Coming soon in some new '80's MGL100 demos.

This isn't fair. I want this thing so dam bad. Absolutely, absolutely incredible. I'd rather have this 10x over the Licensed Fender/EVH repro.

LUV it!

Is it just me or was the Charvel decal applied under the black coat of paint then removed so you can see the birdseye maple underneath???????

That is a very cool detail!

No, the gold Charvel logo is a water slide decal over the black paint. The metallic gold just looks different from different angles.

Nice Build. 👍🏼

That came out killer, congrats. Matt and Curt have been killing it over there at Chubtone, sad to see it come to an end. I will always cherish my #27.....

That looks fantastic Mark, congrats & enjoy!
My favourite old Charvel scheme & Ed's guitar there.
