I have a LP with BKP Mules, I love these pickups for this guitar. Tim is a real nice guy. So here I am again looking for a pickup for another LP suited more towards the 80's hard rock metal sound and I wanted to know what the Cold Sweats are like. I know they were designed to get the Sykes tone. Has anybody tried them?

Haven't tried the CS, but again, the BEST person to ask this question to is Tim. He knows his biz, and what I love about BKP and Tim in general is that he can lay down some serious ass chops and killer playing - he knows how to play fo'shizzle.

Makes all the difference to me.

Ask him.

Best pickups in a les paul ive ever tried! went through aldrich's, nailbombs, jbs, etc. they have amazing chord clarity and there very smooth for leads but have a nice bite as well.

Depends on the guitar. They are very, very bright. They work in darker, muddy guitars. In a bright, clear guitar, they are harsh and annoying.

Great pickups......they sound great in Les Pauls. Medium hot, so they really drive your amp, but not overly hot or compressed at all. The ceramic magnet gives it a lot of tight low end chug, but it still retains really nice mids...which is rare for ceramic magnets. A little bright, but perfect for a Les Paul.

If your les paul is not muddy, you should have a look at Emeralds. I have the bridge in my light/resonant LP and while the Emi has a great 80s crunch on the bass strings, it is thick and smooth up the dusty end of the neck. Awesome rock pickup!

Had the bridge in a R68 LP Custom. Very cool pup: emphasized harmonics and low end chug with no mud.Moderately hot but not crazy. Not the tone I was looking for but it's a great pup. I prefer the Rebel Yells in my Les Paul with an SLO and the way I EQ the amp.
