So everyday playing brings a shine on certain areas
Anyway to take it back to the Matt sheen....or lack of sheen is there anything that can be done besides a (stupid idea) refin?

I recall someone having a matt finish on some 10 second car and had to use a special finish/cleaner on it.
So that was making me wonder if that (or something similar) could be a help or is it too late for that.

Please no smart ass replys as in "just shut up and play yer guitar boy.
I'm menstrual this week and real fucking moody.

my matte black strat is doing the same thing, it sucks but im going with the just play it attitude lol

There’s really nothing that can be done besides a refinish, as playing the guitar means rubbing the surface over time, which means means you’re physically removing and smoothing the the rough parts of the finish responsible for diffusing the light reflections such that they appear matte.

However if you play the guitar a whole lot, you might get lucky and wear through the whole finish, returning it to a rough satin texture. Sure it would look like straight wood grain at that point but there you go.

i prefer satin guitars and have several. certain colors like black and gold(top) REALLY show the shine spots. there are methods guys recommend to knock the shine down on threads on TGP but nothing i was willing to try as they all sounded like too abrasive of ideas.

one person did suggest taking apart and just buffing the whole thing to the shine so its uniform again. less drastic than refin.

im saying, with a smile, you may just have to live with it. on the plus side, if ur into relicing, it means ur topcoat is thin and will starting looking "worn" soon
