yea im pretty confused about what gear to get i mean if i get a combo = i dont need an attenuator but I learned some do have an external output so I could add an attenuator in. I live with my parents moving out in a year to college so I need something that WON'T GET TOO LOUD = anything over 50 watts tube is a no no unless I have an attenuator or a master volume or I buy an interface and run it into
ableton live.
I'm a hobbyist, so I don't wanna do this as a job and I jam sometimes with my friends, but I'm not in a band. The guitar aspect I'm gonna go to GC and just try out as many as I can.
Now about amps, I know I can get a VERY NICE one here or at other forums but it's probably gonna be VERY LOUD. I've been recommended the blackstar ht-5, but it's pretty much impossible to find (waiting a month for a 300 dollar amp LOL).
I play metal (modern/thrash/shred) and post rock and classic rock (king crimson/pink floyd). I know I'm not gonna be able to get Twin Reverb like cleans from any of these amps but the cleans on
my vox ad15vt are good enough for me, so if the HT-5 has better cleans than my vox hybrid, im happy.
I also did some research on the various TC ELECTRONICS Pedals and the Eventide ones but I'd prefer an analog delay a spring reverb (holy grail and the mxr carbon copy) to those pedals.
