Hi people,

I'm normally residing at the amps-forum but the question below doesn't generate a lot of answers/tips over there. Anyone here who might be able to help out ?

Thanks !

I have 2 old Marshall Bluesbreaker pedals which I like a lot but they have 2 problems which, to me, limits their use.

1. Even with the tonepot rolled all the way down there is a big bass roll-of.
2. With either the gain or the levelpot past 3 o'clock the treble/presence goes through the roof.

Could someone who is more electronically educated than me take a look at the schematic and give tips on what to change in the pedal to solve this problem please ?

Thanks in advance !

I like this one:

Change C12 to a .1uf, .15uf, or.22uf film cap. The bigger the cap the less bass you lose. .15uf is my favorite. Swap one of the diodes (they are either 2x LEDs or 4x 1N4148s in this pedal) out with a 1n4001 and a .001uf ceramic disc cap in parallel. If you have the version with 1n4148 diodes you must take two of them out (inline pointed in the same direction) and replace it with the 1n4001. This will make the clipping more dynamic and the cap will absorb fizz off the distortion. Most of these parts are available at Radio Shack.
