I have a Stagecraft Diagonal 2x12 with convertible back and it love it, but I'm always trying new things. Doesn't have castors, which I could easily apply, but I'm back to looking at Bogners.

I have a Friedman BE50 coming in tomorrow and also have a Splawn and a few other modded Marshalls.

I have a Voltage 1x12 that's 14" deep and has the lower back open and it sounds really huge for a 1x12.

I may want to try something off the shelf (so not a Stone Age as it will take a while to build).

I play in a cover band, hard rock, ala Zep, GNR, to AIC and Tool, some Metallica up to the Black Album.

I loved the way the Mesa horizontal thumps, but it's too directional. I've had a Port City OS Wave and it was also too directional, but breathed better. I've become a fan of cabs that breath a bit on stage, but i want the close back feature for larger stages. ...hence, I'm thinking of a convertible back of the Bogner.

Seeing who's had experiences with all three cabinets. Cheers!

Hmmm...Not feeling it as I don't own 4x12s anymore, but I've heard detuned can sound pretty cool.

Thanks!

My Bogner 2x12 OS has been my go to cab for some 15 years at least. I've used it with a Bogner Shiva, a BE100 and a BE50, and many other great amps. Currently for the Friedman's it's loaded with 2 Scumback M75's, @65 watts. It's now a close back wired two 8 ohms in serial for a total of 16 ohms. When I used a Shiva it was Scumback H75/H55 @ 30watts, 2 8 ohms in serial for 16 ohms, and the cab then partial open back.

This 2x12 is fantastic and sounds almost as large as a 4x12. At one point I considered replacing it with a Friedman 2x12, but I returned the Friedman cab because I could not detect much if any difference in sound.

Given how large this cab sounds, and the convenience it offers with removable caster wheels I could not imagine many cabs being much better.

Good luck in your quest.

I would also consider the Orange PPC 2x12. Sounds massive and certainly competes with my other 4x12's. They also offer it with black tolex.

Thanks for responding guys.

I’m bringing my BE50 to go compare a Bogner OS 2x12 vs my Stagecraft Diagonal. Will
Report back later.

The Bogner cab I love is the 212CB. It is fantastic! I have the BE-212 and I love it as well.

I played the Bogner OS 2x12 against my Stagecraft(SC) Diagonal 2x12 today with the new BE50 Deluxe.

Bogner had a Hellatone H30/V30 mix. SC has the Creamback H75/M65 mix.

I'm a dumbass, because I left the convertible top panel at home on the SC, so it was open. SO, take this with a grain of salt.

The Bogner OS was fucking great. It bloomed and roared with the amp and it punched the mids a bit more forward given the speaker combo and it was closed back. I was SOOOOOOOOO surprised that it was NOT directional at all. I mean, sure, the eq changed slighly when getting side to side with it, but when I had the Port City OS Wave 2x12, that cab as well as it bloomed it front, it was way too directional, even with the front port: sorry guys. It was. The Bogner, to me, really does a great job of bringing a big sound, but it's a big cab.

The SC, surprisingly, competed with it, so I didn't buy my friends Bogner. I wanted to, but the Stagecraft Diagonal hung in there. Even my friend, who really wants to unload it, was really impressed with the Stagecraft.

Standing in front of both cabs, the Bogner definitely projected a bit a little better, but again, it was closed back and the SC had the top panel open on the back. The SC was 'softer' slightly more subdued, but nothing a little EQ could fix.

Both cabs punched pretty well. I've played extensively with a Mesa horizontal and that amp, is definitely one of the tightest cabs I've ever heard, but I preferred the Bogner and SC to the Mesa for what I like and what I do.

In sum, Bogner OS is really as great as everyone says it is, if you like what it does.

Best cab I've ever had is the OS212. Sounds great no matter what head.
