No. But I just lined 3 sides of my Mojo 4x12 with Dacron batting and it improved pretty dramatically IMO. And that's not the first time I've had success using insulation/batting.

When I was a wee young lad..I had a thing for eating chalk and....umm..nevermind. :D

White crap is the shit. :D

Resonance is a myth, and when building a guitar, any wood is fine.

Right?

Can't remember what I originally wrote, above. But was changing it, when VC responded.

I think it was something about high quality cables suck, and highly researched / engineered cabinet designs being crap, so the type of wood used for guitar construction must not matter either.

Wanna see some neck veins throbbing and foreheads turning red...Post this on TGP
Especially the cable thread

Mine's black. Does that change the tone?  [o

Black batting provides a more soulful tone and resonance :D

This dude seems like the guitar-playing equivalent of the kid who buys an MBox and downloads cracked Waves plugins and says "outboard gear can't sound as good as these plugins, man. I don't need no SSL."

Meaning, basically, that he seems fulllllllllllllllllll of shit. I was wondering where my stash of "give a shits" went, looks like this dude grabbed em.

And the insulation was "engineered," jackass. It's not like the shit grows in a field.

not fucking with mine. It sounds great just the way it is and I wouldn't want to mess that up (slant 4x12 w/v30's. ;)

I have a/b'd them and I prefer my Bogner cabs with the white crap!

This is a very laymans, simplistic explanation, but the foam batting (white crap) is designed to eliminate conflicting soundwaves inside the cab, and "trick" the speakers into thinking they're in a larger enclosure. Usually, the foam batting adds nothing but good things, and eliminates problem frequencies.

I'll tell you what was NOT engineered: the design of an original 412 cab. Marshall just made a box big enough to fit 4 speakers!
