They're cool. I had one of the early heads. Very nice cleans. It lacked in the gain dept for me and the gain was a little rougher around the edges than I would have preferred. Awesome onboard trem and reverb. The newer ones have more gain from what I hear, so I wouldn't mind revisiting it but it didn't quite make the cut for me

Mike did I play it??

I think so. Were you here once when I had the bog 2x12? If so, yeah. They came and went together...

Is that the time I brought my N4 over?

Thanks. I'm more interested in the cleans ( reverb/Trem features ) and rhythm crunch tones than I am high gain. I can always use a good boost pedal for the soupier stuff. I like the low wattage factor and the versatality around the design.

I just picked one up so hopefully its a keeper!

You will probably dig it a lot then. I remember loving the trem.

Ant from what little I recall... yeah like Mike said nice cleans but it is far from a shred amp. from what you said it'll prolly be right up your alley.

Bogner will mod it. Hi gain mod. Adds a global mid knob, Footswitchable boost function, and a revoiced gain channel. Basically stock gain channel then the pull boost function (Footswitchable now) starts off where the non modded channel ended.
Very cool amp. Great cleans also.

If this is what you need it for, it's going to be right up your alley.

I have a head version, and it kills. Great clean to crunchy Fender Deluxe-y type sounds, and nice plexi ish crunch on the drive channel. If you need more gain, just throw on an OD in front of it.

I recently did a recording session for a singer-songwriter, and I used this amp on the entire EP. From clean to crunch. Recorded beautifully.

Excellent!

i have the 1x12 combo in the most recent form. I love the amp and its original design. I like how the channels can be blended or used seperatly each with own independend masters and gains and reverbs. I tried the older swamp switch version which was cool but the newer version has a gain boost push pull on the od channel and no swamp switch, also the first channel seems cleaner on the newer version. The cleans are killer on the amp and even the clean channel has a wide range on the gain knob. Its 6v6 power section with tube rectifier definatly gives off the best of the older fender amp vibe. The drive channel with the pull gain boost has more gain then I ever use pretty much and sounds killer, it can do the hotrodded marshall thing nicely which would surprise most people as all clips are of the clean or slightly broken up tones that i heard. The amp puts out 15 to 18 watts with the 5ar4 rectifier tube but u can install a smaller 5y3 recifier tube which lowers the amp to around 12 watts, I put a nos sylvania 5y3 in mine and I like the tones even more although its a little less output. its a safe switch as bogner sells and ships these with both types rec tube depending on 1x10 or 1x12 or head version.
