So I have purchased one of these heads and so far I'm really enjoying it!

I don't see that it gets a lot of love from groups, and I wondered why?
I also noticed that the eq on the amp is very weird and I had to get used to it but so far really enjoying it! also first post!

Congratulations and welcome! I always wanted to try one of these
Thanks! I did as well and finally had the time and money to get one and did. At first it was a bit rough and I wasn't sure If it was for me but now since I'm getting the sound out of it. Really enjoying it.

Congrats man! I had one for about a year before selling it. I was using an Uberschall Rev2 and wanted something that had the same amount of gain and aggressive voicing but with better mids that cut through the mix better. While the Eclipse definitely has tons of gain, it wasn't really usable for me for the type of metal I was playing (drop c chug/sludge). Definitely an awesome amp though, I wouldn't mind grabbing another one someday!

Yeah I definitely see where it’s not suited for chug C stuff. But definitely a riff machine

How is the Eclipse different from the standard (older?) Helios?

This might help. I think it's accurate.

John4021 is on the money. I wouldn't say they duplicate each other. Not sure they can. Agree with Eclipse being closer to a modded Marshall.
The foot switch is fantastic.
John4021, what is your description of the difference between the OG Helios and the Eclipse? Just curious.
The NON-Eclipse Helios had less gain and if you wanted to switch to a "hot mode" you had to switch inputs.
Plus it was Lacking bottom end. A buddy had a Freidman BE100 (older model) and it had a deeper rounded tone.

I think Professor Bogner got his point across with the Helios as if you were listening to a full-on attack 100 watt Marshall Plexi.
Very uncompressed

None the less, people still buy the O.G. Helios.

The ECLIPSE is a gain monster. Simple clean and gets the job done. Not a lot of YouTube videos of it.
Can the Eclipse still do lower rock gains.? YOU BETCHCA
