A really good buddy of mine is looking for one and I told him I would inquire for him.

I have searched around but really cant seem to get any solid info.

It is like some 4 or 7 watt super tiny amp...

Thanks

G.

Pretty cool but pricey small amp. The NAMM clip with Reinhold sounds good.
At $1150-$1200 priced too high compared to other similar amps (Blackstar).
It did sound pretty good and has been rumored for release for a while but none seem to be for sale.

There's a new one on the bay. The Brixton looks more interesting to me....

I sent a mail to Bogner back in June, and Jörg wrote that they are shipping to dealers now, however they don't intend to offer it in Europe, apparently due to lack of interest from dealers. :(

Premier Guitar did reviews of both the Panama and Brixton. Unfortunately, the reviews sucked, and basically described both amps the same exact friggin way.

I don't like the playing of their demo dude at ALL.

The vids with Reinhold playing at NAMM are much better.

Agreed.

Their comments on PANAMA:
"The voicing was signature Bogner—aggressive, yet smooth and highly dynamic with a heavy nod to high gain British voicing. As I moved from riffs to melody lines, the amp reacted in tandem, breathing out and allowing each note to bloom and sustain with great clarity."

"If you’re looking for searing high gain with a British accent at manageable levels, it’s hard to beat the Bogner Panama. The amount of detail and clarity in the tone is stunning, even if there aren’t a lot of clean tones or headroom"

Buy if... detailed, low volume high gain rock tones are what the doctor ordered.
Skip if... you’ve just got to have clear clean tones.

Their comments on BRIXTON:
"For a lot of players, the Bogner name is synonymous with thick, aggressive overdrive tones, and the Brixton is certainly no exception. This amp is a fire-breathing monster..."

"For high gain tone aficionados, the Bogner Brixton is a sure winner. The quintessential high gain tone Bogner is famous for is here in spades"

Buy if... you need unbelievable high gain tones that record well in the studio.
Skip if... chimey, unspoiled cleans are an absolute must.

It's practically the same damn review. Why didn't they do a back to back comparison, and point out some details? So far the only difference I know about them is that one is 4 watts and one is 12.

Get a hold of Rob at Tone Merchants. Rob can get the info and he is a dealer. Tone Merchants is also a few minutes from Bogner.

I have the Panama. It's a fun little amp. Great tone....but pricey, and feature poor. I'm into the micro-amps, so I just had to have it.
HATES distortion/overdrive pedals...anything more than a clean boost and it craps out big time. Plenty of gain on tap, but if you're thinking of a platform for different disto textures, forget it.

I get the impression that the Brixton and Panama are more or less the same tones but at different watts (with a slightly different control panel). I've seen one player say the Panama is higher gain than the Brixton, and another who said just the opposite.
