Wow...It's everything they say it is. Tested it out on my 50 watt plexi clone set up to a clean tone. It is very versitile. Van Halen type tones to AIC and then some. Plenty off gain on tap! All the knobs and switches when used, you can tell an audible difference when changing settings. Sometimes with pedals you change a switch and go... I really can't hear the difference. My brother, on the other hand who did some "Bogner mods" to this amp, will be pleased that his mods are very similar sounding to the pedal. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. Good clean tube amp tone + Bogner red pedal = WIN.

I'm having a hard time deciding between blue and red. I want to run them into my YBA-1 or the clean of my JCM800. The BLUE is probably in the lead right now for me but i want to know how well it does with boosts.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a Red! Damn XMAS shopping cut into my funds. :gethim:   I've heard nothing but positive things on these. The Blue is really tempting me as well but I have several nice low to mid-gain overdrives already. Hmmm....

I was loaned the Bogner Red pedal last night for a trail run. It is pretty EFFFFF'n cool. I ran the pedal into a 1972 Marshall superlead.

I have to agree with Gordo, the tones were pretty amplike while not as chewy and juicey as most of the XTC clips I have heard but damn close enough for me.

I tended to gravitate towards the 100B for gainier plexi tones( had some nice give to it) and the 20th for higher gain tones. All in all alot of fun.

The Pedal is extremely well built and is MADE IN THE USA! Way to go Reinhhold! He did not outsource assembly! That alone makes it worth the $299.00 for all the tones in this pedal! Three different evolutions of the Ecstasy 100. 101B and 20th very nice.

I will be picking one up soon! Thanks for letting me borrow the pedal there Gordo!

Yup....definitely getting a Red at some point in the new year or sooner.

thanks for the review... are you set on the read or are you equally interested in the blue? (being more plexi like) So would you say that the pedal feels like an extension of the amp? In a lot of cases an OD just adds it's own colour but through a clean channel, you know you are playing a pedal.

The pedal did feel like an extension of the amp, it got pretty percussive when the amps volume was turned up like an amp. The pedal did have some give and feel to it that in itself was impressive. The pedal does have the trademark Bogner tone, it does not sound like an hopped up OD808, I have one of those(SRB808). A couple of times I had the gain set too high and it got a bit fizzy to my ears but I backed it down and it cleared up, I got some tones I really liked it is very tweakable. I kept all the EQ-s Mid, Treb and bass at noon thru the trial run maybe bumoed the treble pot up some at times.

The pedal does capture that nice saturated tone of the XTC IMO, the volume and boost features work great as well as the variac mode.

The 101B, 100B and 20th switch really gives discernable voicing changes as the different amps do by description. I really was enjoying the 100B in and out of variac mode. The PRE-EQ's work well.

I modded my brothers 50 watt plexi to Bogner Blue specs and I wired in a Plexi switch and Pre-EQ bright switches just like the XTC so he has a pretty killer Bogner tone to compare it to.

The only other pedal that has impressed me this much was the XTS Atomic overdrive(which my brother also has) but that pedal does not have the super thick Bogner tone to it IMO.

For me an XTC amp let alone a 100, 101 and 20th is out of the question money wise but this pedal may cure my Bogner desires. Everyone's ears are different but generally if I like something tonewise I like it right away or hate it right, this I liked, YMMV! These are my initial impressions with about a good hour playing it, I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up.

The Blue pedal is just seems less saturated than the red, and has the plexi switch. The Red channel is 4 gain stages on the XTC, the Blue is 3 gain stages and with the plexi switch engaged is two gain stages(on the Blue channel) just like a real plexi but with a Bogner twist.

I purchased a Bogner Red Pedal after demoing one. I wanted to wait a give it some time to give a fair review after my ears settled in. Alot of people are asking how these sound through JMP/2203/2204 Marshall amps so I will answer that as well.

I ran this pedal into my 1 x 12 6CA7/EL34 TUBE combo amp which is a 2203, stock marshall three gain stage circuit with some mods to it but it still can be set essentially stock which I did for the review to be fair, I built this amp so I can guarantee you it is a 2203 circuit. You can the tone clean gain on 2 or semi clean gain on 4-5 with just a hair of breakup, the pedal sounds really good either way, so my initial review above still applies.

This pedal is one of my better purchases over the years, and for you JMP/2203/2204 guys wanting to know if the pedal sounds good into a JMP, this pedal does sound good into marshall semi clean setting as well as a totally clean channel setting, it's just not limited to a FENDER clean IMO. You have to like Bogner tone for this is my only statement of caution in making the purchase.

Yes the pedal does feel like an extension of the amp when you hold notes they ring into nice controllable feedback as an amp would. It does not feel fake like I'm playing a facsimlie of an amplifier. I feel I could gig with this pedal and be 100% happy with it.

Good Job Reinhhold! AND REALLY APPRECIATE YOU KEEPING IT ALL 100% MADE IN THE USA
