Which of it is "Tighter" ? and which sounded larger and organic.. the old EL34 Shiva or Anniversary Shiva KT88 ?

Not sure, but the 20th is an awesome head. Tight, smooth, big round mids. Great amp

How many channels do you want? 20th Shiva is awesome if you only need 2.

Yeah i'll like to get a simple one i think the XTC would be too expensive.. as i would think the basic tone of the signature bogner would be burned inside the Shiva box?

i would really like to look into the bass response (feel to be tight when at high gain dialed)
Good mids, natural and raw tone ? does it fit into the category?

Heard the usual Shiva EL34 is > than Shiva Annivesary?

i am not looking at thoese super high gain type but a moderate gain level would be enough. (thoese early trash metal type)
perhaps i would get into modern type tones by running a pedal infront then? :D

Well the Shiva doesn't get that tight, its just a classic amp, it does what it does with style. Hell even the Ecstasy 101B is a bit lacking on the tight side...

Better yet. Shiva 20th, snip one resistor, pop EL34's in there. It's everything that my old Shiva was, but better.

Cool Thanks for helping out.. but does Bogner makes 20th with EL34s in it?
Does it have the Signature tone of the Bogners?
Does Shiva handles tighter bass than XTC?

i am also looking at cameron CCV if its somehow close to bogners?

I love the Shiva, one of the rare amps around that has its own vibe going on....you can distinguish it from a mile away. 20th Shiva is the only amp I'm gassing for right now, or the Fractal model of a Shiva would also do nicely......

Shiva is a very raw sounding amp and isn't forgiving. XTC is opposite. Smooth, compressed, and easy to play (or wank) on. Shiva sounds a bit bigger.

I had a Shiva, it was the latest revision before the 20th change with the bright switch's and adjustable boost level etc.

I didn't like it. Low gain and it did NOT take pedals well. Harsh upper end, and a weird low end.

Clean was good though.

Big fan of The XTC though, much better sounding amp IMHO, but neither are what I would call a "Tight" amp. I haven't played any 20th's though.

XTC sounds bigger/wider. Before the 20th Ann. Models came along, they were on the loose side.

Talk about the 20thA (yes, WITH EL34's) has been done to death - check the threads under the main Bogner forum, tons of goodies in there

The Shiva? Man, that is one beautiful amp - BEAUTIFUL.

That link right there will give you a straight comparo between the two, even though they're completely different animals. I own the 20thA with EL34's, the XTC, it's a masterpiece and cannot easily be described in words, you gotta get in front of one with yer fave ax, crank it, and feel the love. There's no describing it in words man, just wear some thick undies :D

Peace,
V.
