So who's played both of these cabs? Which did you prefer & why?

man I've been tossing around the idea of getting a FL cab my self

never played the engl

but the new bogner front loads are probably the best sounding 4x12s on the market. they are so clear aggressive warm and 3D sounding.

its like the only 4x12 cab anybody should buy honestly

what speakers do you have loaded in your cab?

Seriously thought my Engl XXL Pro is the best cab I have had for metal. I have had quite a few cabs over the years and it stands out in a band mix. I have a front load Diezel but this Engl just is more present and out front. It's a heavy motherfucker though, 139lbs.

That's right, I forgot you had the Invader. The XXL would sound crushing with that head. I have had the pleasure of hearing 3 of my cabs live (without me playing). So from an audience perspective the Engl was the best. It was up against the Diezel and VHT all loaded with V30's. The Engl was just more clear and present with a thunderous bottom end but not muddy. Way better than the Mesa or Mode four I had/have too. Honestly the only other cab I care to try is a Mills Acoustics Afterburner. No other cab gas. I can't see the Bogner being that much better than the Engl so there is no point in trying it for me. Besides it matches one of my heads. :D I'm sure it's a good cab though.

yeah man I'm really gassing for a front loaded 4x12 speaker cab, there's a local guy that has a Vader cab for sale I think Vaders are FL not sure, but my concern is that I won't like the speakers, as I've always used V30s

Yeah man, I had a Vader too. I really did not like the Eminences in them. Like zero breakup. Very stale and bland sounding to my ears. They are a rear load cab as you can kind of tell from this pic. If you can do it get the XXL Engl you will be very pleased. If not......sell it to me. :D

The newer German Diezel FL 412's are probably the best cabs on the market. I could see the Uberkab being just as good though, since it's damn near the same thing.

Neither. As far as FL cabs go, the Diezel USA made FL smoked them both.

139 pounds for the Engl cab? Wow,. My Randall cab is 130, and it is really heavy. 10 pounds can make a huge difference when carrying one of these cabs

I've got a Mesa Rectifier Traditional 4x12, Marshall 1960AV, Bogner 2x12, and Bogner Uberkab FL at the moment. Have also had a Recto 2x12, Recto 4x12 Standard, and Marshall MF400 recently.

My main cab for everything now?

The Bogner Uberkab. at first I didn't like it. But then I realized what it was doing, and it is just absolutely crushing now...caused me to dial the amps just slightly different, but the tone is there...and huge, and big and thunderous and warm. All my other cabs sound weak now. and all my amps sound weak and too bright through my other cabs.

I very highly recommend the Uberkab FL.
My only gripe, is that i have it wired stock 16ohms...which to me, means it is stuck in Half Stack status, since all my other cabs (except the overly bright Marshall) are 8ohms.
I would like to pair it with a cab that has slightly more top end (not as much as the bright Marshall, just a little sweeter).

I would like to try a new German made Diezel FL but the price keeps me away. :aww:

I disagree. Don't get me wrong, I think my USA made FL Diezel is good but it's my second favorite next to the XXL.

It's such a beast man. I usually need my wife's help getting it up from the basement. I have done it by myself but it really is no fun. She is never thrilled about helping either. :D I have heard those Randalls are pretty bad ass.

hmm no Vader for me, I'll have to be patient in my quest for a FL cab as I will be looking to buy used

oh before I forget did you feel the same way about the P50s when you had the VHT fatbottom as far as being stale and bland sounding

I spent a while with a standard Mesa 4x12 and a regular Bogner 4x12 and the Bogner sounds so much better to me than the Mesa. The Mesa cab was soo bright in comparison that it was tiring to listen to after a while. The Bogner just sounds sweet.

check texas dragon cabs, i got a 2x12 with scumbacks and sounds amazing

The P50e's are way better with the right head. They killed with my UL,Soldano, Dragon and Cobra. They suck with the Diezel, Peters and Engl. Those heads are better suited for Celestions IMO. The cab itself is a really good cab but I still preffer an oversized cab.

right on dude

Thanks for the input fellas. Seems pretty split.

I'd like to try a German Diezel FL too, but I have a hard time with that price too. I understand it's because of shipping and what not, but I just can't see it being $400-$500 better if at all.

Hey Wizard, so you compared the USA Diezel to the Bogner & Engl? What made you prefer it over the others?
