It has a removable front grillHow do tell which Uberkab you have . I assumed mine was FL but now I’m not sure knowing the other exists

I agree. I haven't compared side by side, but I don't remember liking the RL version as much as the FL one I have. I don't recall actually trying yet another cab with as big low end as my Ubercab FL, although I haven't tried any Mills. I actually find my Ubercab FL's inherent character to be dark, very fat/thick and modern vs my other cabsI’ve owned a 2007 rear loaded and currently own the FL cab. I much prefer the FL for all of my amps, not just my Ubers. It dishes out plenty of low end thump and I prefer the brighter character of it. Funny because in the earlier days, majority of Uber haters/complainers used to complain about being buried in a band setting and it would turn out they were playing through a matching cab or rear loaded cab in general most of the time.
When I played out with my first Rev Blue, it was through a VHT FB cab, which is FL and I cut through just fine. Bass heavy amps NEED FL cabs IMO. Same exact problem happens with Herbert users too.
This !There is a significant difference between both types.
Rear-loaded cabs have a rolled-off high end (i.e warmer) and resonate more (more bass frequencies created/thrown around the room, which makes it sound bigger). Looser playing response.
Front-loaded cabs have a low-mid scoop and more high end in comparison. The cabinet doesn’t resonate as much so you end up hearing less cab coloration and more of the direct speaker sound. They sound more gritty in the high mids to my ear. Bass is more controlled. Tighter playing response.
Keep in mind, the speakers are different ohms as well. Don't remember which is which, but one is 16 ohm, the other is 8.
Night and day difference there too.
