Bogner UberKab or Mesa Standard 4x12

I'm going to be getting another 4x12 in the near future and I think I've narrowed my choices to a Mesa Standard Recto cab or a Bogner Uberkab. I have three amps, a Bogner Uberschall, Mesa Roadster, and PRS Archon. My current cab is a Diezel V412F (it's one of the US Salwender cabs with V30's and Eminence D12V8's in an X pattern), and it sounds great with all three heads. I want to be able to run a stereo setup so that's why I'm getting another cab.

The Uberkab and my Diezel cab are both front loaded, so I'm wondering if I might be better off going with the Mesa cab as it is rear-loaded and would have a considerably different type of response than my current cab. If I go the Mesa route, I may also get a couple of T75's to put in an X pattern in my current cab and turn it into a pseudo Uberkab.

Thoughts? Am I right in assuming the Uberkab would be pretty similar in construction to my current cab?

I have two of the older Ubercabs at my studio that are rear loaded (One cab is all V30s and the other is the standard v30/gt75) as well as a older mesa recto 4x12. The Ubercab in my opinion sounds way better then the Mesa and I am generally a big fan of mesa amps and cabs (the mesa at the studio is a straight cab with the angled top baffle). The mesa sounds thin and harsh in comparison the the Bogner cabs. The mesa 212 Recto cab is very scooped but is tight.

Both Bogner and Mesa are built like a tank. Every amp that I plug into the Bogner cabs sound great. I play mostly Heavier dropped tuned music.

Used Mesa cabs are normally easy to come by to try, the Bogners are more difficult but are out there.

 Nailed it!

My opinion ain't worth much because I've never spent time with a Mesa cab. But once I played through a Bogner cab, my search was over. They bring out the best in any speaker I've put in them. Right now I have one with Marshall V30s and another with EVH Heritage GBs. In both cases, the move from the original cab to the Bogner was an improvement. Not to mention, they have outstanding classic cosmetics.

I'd say rear loaded uber... That being said, I have a v412f if you want another, I'm in cinci...

I've owned rear loaded uberkab, front loaded uberkab, and mesa standard and oversized 4x12's.

My least favorite among them and one that I surely wont buy again is the front loaded Uberkab.
I didn't like it. To me the sound was to up front...it lost the character that the wood and cabinet give to the tone.
I played it with a Twin Jet, a Mark IV, a EVH Stealth, and a DSL 100H.

To my ears the best V30 loaded 4x12 was the ENGL Pro and Mesa Standard 4x12.

I play Slayer, Exodus, Testament type music if that makes any difference.

Uberkab imo, ive had mine over 10 yrs and its my favorite cab. I had the mesa 4x12 traditional and it was a nice cab and better than the oversized mesa cab i have right now but i always go back to my uberkab. I have a older diezel cab but never use it because i dont like the speakers and im too lazy to change them haha.

Thanks for the replies. If i go the Uberkab route it'd more than likely be a brand new front-loaded one because they're not too common on the used market around me. It seems that the general consensus is that the rear loaded Uberkab is superior to the front loaded. If that's the case I could go with a rear loaded Bogner cab with the v30/t75 mix.

Another vote for the rear-loaded Uberkab. I've played through Mesa cabs, they aren't bad at all. I just prefer the Uberkab.

Keep an eye on Guitar Center used gear online. Last month I scored a rear loaded Uberkab for $450, and they delivered it to my door for $32. They're usually around $650, and I've only seen two at that price ($450), but it happens. Also, they've got a 45 day return policy. There's a slant cab up there now.

I've played both but not back to back. All I can really contribute here is that the Traditional/Stilleto Mesa cab sounds a lot better than the bigger Standard cab IMO.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Thanks to a head's up from racerxrated, I have a rear-loaded Uberkab on the way from GC. Scored it for $449+ tax. They didn't even charge me shipping.

Was that on their site? Just before I posted on here, I looked on their site and only saw a slant for $649.00.

Nope. It was one that racerxrated had put a down payment on already but had decided to go with something else instead, so he called them to refund his down payment and because he gave me the head's up I was able to call them about 10 minutes later and scoop it up. Love this site!

Sweeeeeet. I actually bought one for $449.00 a month ago. It sounded killer, but I preferred my Mills to it by a nose, so I brought it back. I only had to eat the $32.00 shipping fee. Definitely a killer cab though.

I would take the Mesa without a doubt. The uber cab is cool, but the Mesa Standard straight sounds killer. Big tight bottom end, no shrill top end. You rarely see Mesa standard straight cabinets for sale...

Couldn't pass up an Uberkab for $449. Uberkabs come up for sale used far less than straight Mesa cabs. If I don't gel with it I'll chase down a Mesa cab.
