Has anyone heard, used or owned both? How do they compare? I'm talking about the 2x12 with the panel across the top 20% of the front.

Do you mean the shiva size 2x12. Your description makes me think so. I had the open back version and loved it. Very woody vintage tone. Great for copping neil young kinda wool or chimey cleans. Havent had the avatar but if you have a line on the bogner for a decent price i would not hesitate, great cab.

If you're talking about the OS 2x12 I had the Bogner and Avatar at the same time for a couple years. The Avatar was a great cab for the money. Once you play a Bogner next to it though you hear the difference. The Bogner is tighter and has more low end. Still have it and will never get rid of it.

Ah. The 212c, it has the angle baffle and is different than the shiva size. Sorry, im no help on that one but i cant imagine it is anything less than great.

Sorry when I said OS I meant over sized which is what you're looking at. Those are the two cabs I had. If your funds can swing the Bogner it's worth it.

Question, in these 2 adds one says OS the other doesn't. Do they look like the same cab or is the other one smaller? What's your thought? Is OS better? Too bulky? I can't get either to respond to me.

The Bogner OS 2x12 is an amazing cabinet. You have a sophisticated ear and although the Avatar is a good cabinet and affordable, it's apples and oranges when you get right down to it. I've owned both.

Exactly.

The cab is larger but still way more portable than a 4x12. I don't know if they all come with casters but I would defiantly get them.
And yes, the Avatar is the same size.

Both of my Bogner cabs (1x12 ported and the 2x12 you are inquiring about) smoke all my other cabs in terms of tightness and clarity. Live they cut through very nicely. They improve the tone of every amp I own.

I own several of each at the moment ironically......

My Bogners are "Stay at home" and my Avatars (loaded with Scumbacks) sound amazing.

I'm a big Bogner guy.... But if you can find a deal on an Avatar go for it. The audience won't really hear the difference...

As much as many like Bogner OS 2x12 I feel a good 4x12 kills them. And they both take up the same amount of floor space so why bother with a big heavy 2x12 when for a little more weight you can lug a 4x12 and sound better.

For the best portability a pair a Mesa Thiele's can't be beat.
