Taking another stab at an OCD, and have it on the way. I've owned one before, and it worked VERY well with my JSX, but when I traded it for a Laney TT50, it sounded AWEFUL. MUD CITY, so I sold it and went back to the Wylde OD, (my 4th one).

The Wylde OD has been my go-to for british-style/voiced amps, and has always come through with my Marshall DSL's, JSX, and my Stage 60. Only thing I DON'T like, is that it can get noisy, with just the slightest gain, (were talking set at maybe 7:00). I'm hoping the OCD will be a quieter, and more transparent/less compressed.
I truly LOVE the Blackstar's OD1 boosted, but as stated, the Wylde OD is noisey. And, OD2 has WAY too much gain, and boosting it is way too noisey, and way too compressed with the Wylde OD.

I personally don't like my blackstar with my Dano Cool Cat Drive which is an OCD clone. For me it LOVES any type of tube screamer. It needs the mid hump to not sound muddy. I use od1 on my ht 100 most of the time as well, agree od2 has too much gain to boost.

on the blackstar do you boost with tone/treble above 60-70 % ?

i've got a blackstar HT-5 at home, with a MI blue boy deluxe, i set the brightness/tone pretty high and boost the output mainly, absolutely rips, just wondering how the higher wattage heads react

I use a MXR 10 band eq in the loop. It sounds massive now.

Ts9's or Maxon OD 808 work well. also the OCD is a great boost and won't mud up your sound, It will make it nice and clear.

Ralph uses a Maxon OD 808 with his and swears it made him almost sell all of his other gear. :)

I recommend the Keeley modded SD1

I forgot to mention that but I do have a modded SD-1 that sounds fantastic with it as well.

I use an OCD to boost my HT-5, and I like it better than any TS type of pedal I own.
My second fav is a stock SD-1, the mids don't knaw at you as much. Sounds warmer to me than 808's and TS's with that amp.
