been thinking of changing up my sound a bit and contemplating adding one of the suhr pedals i.e. shiba reloaded, riot reloaded, or koko boost reloaded .... it would be used as a clean boost just to tighten things up, as I leave my boost on at all times even with the clean channel. any users out there with some input on which would be the better fit ?

I have a maxon OD-808 at the moment for reference, gain zero'd, volume maxed ... it sounds great aside from being a bit noisey.

I have the 50 watt head and I boost the blue with a MXR 10 band EQ. I also have a Riot and didn't like it as a boost. A plus with the EQ is, of course, you can adjust the frequencys if needed.

I'd stay with the Maxon if you're just hitting the front end. I don't think there'll be an "AH-HA!" moment there, unless you want something with an actual mid-character to it like the Koko.

I use a Boss overdrive with my EVH stealth. It is on all the time except the clean channel. It seems to give it a bit more punch.

I have a Shiba Reloaded. Can't say enough good things about it. I run it into a pretty dirty amp already but never anything like a Stealth.

If you set on Suhr, KoKo is simple and clean but you can't shape the tone much. It's a love or hate type of thing. I think they found good on anything. Shiba is real good too.

I believe rockchippy has a clip of the koko through the stealth on YouTube. It is awesome. That said, all my overdrives sound good in their own way through it.

Rockinchippy is the username. He does make it sound really good.

I own the koko boost reloaded and i absolutely love it with my Friedman small box. I have sold it before and keep coming back to it. I have also owned the shiba reloaded but felt like it was better for a fender style amp or maybe a mesa something that needs bass cut. The shiba also did not get along with the bright switch on my small box. The koko does not suffer from this at all. I almost only use the red side at this point. level at 9 o'clock and q at noon set to the far left. The koko works with your amp sound...I was less amazed with it with my 50 watt evh as i am with my small box.

Still have the original koko and it's still fav pedal to date as boosts go. I leave the red side on all the time wether I'm on clean or not, though I mainly roll volume back on guitar vs clean channel. It's always been great on Marshall style heads and obviously the more dynamic the amp the Better it will be if you plan on leaving it switched on all the time. Sounds incredible in front of my Friedman JJ
