Boss DD500 and the Marshall JVM

I am not trying to be difficult, but what is the context of the question?

Do you have both? Are they not getting along together? Etc.

I don't have the 500, but I have a DD3 that I use in the loop of my jvm205h and works just fine. I would expect the 500 to do the same.

I’ve used many different delay pedals in the loop of my JVM without any issues

Zero issue with anything I've ever run through the loop of the JVM. Rack gear, pedals...all fine.

Right now running a Ventris and Nemesis through it, two amazing effects. I'd say a 500 will work like a champ.

The Marshall JVM seems to be one of the few current amps still correctly designed to work with effects.
The FX Loop is cleverly configurable as series/parallel, running @ -10dBV (that's -7,78 dBu) or +4dBu, feeding & accepting the correct voltages to/from a (every) pedal (-10) and true line level (+4) processors (rack only as of this day), perfectly matching their input headroom. The secondary loop is placed between preamp/power amp and correctly designed for line level ONLY devices.... putting an instrument level break there would be dummy. Run your pedal in the first loop, configured as parallel, -10dBV and kill dry sound in the pedal.
Are you having any issue or is it just a pre_buying question?

Bonus of the JVM is that it has two loop options, a parallel loop and a series loop...

I'd say it's HOW loops are designed rather than how many they are. Plenty of amps have loops but most of them suck as you can't switch them to the proper level to correctly match the type of gear you want to connect there. Most amps were correctly designed in the late '80s and '90s.... now it's a blood bath...
