Boss OD1-X.......wow!

Finally got this thing in today. Gave it a run through at the rehearsal space and it killed. We compared it to the following through 3 different amps:

Keeley SD-1
MXR GT-OD
Fulltone OCD v4
BBE Green Screamer & BBE Gus G
Boss OD-3
Bad Monkey
TC Electronic Spark Boost

Honestly it was no contest. I don't care if it's digital or not, it just sounds so natural. You can pretty much make it sound however you want as the low/high controls are very responsive. Using level maxed and gain at zero pushing my Morris it sounded better than the Keeley SD-1. The key to getting an SD-1 type sound is zeroing out the low/high knobs on the OD1-X. But as you turn up the gain, it stayed focused while the keeley fell apart.

Gonna give it another run through tomorrow at more volume, but I really think it's gonna put all my OD pedals on the chopping block.
 
Cool; glad those are nice. Don't remember the price, but thought they were kinda expensive though?
 
I've tried quite a few of the Ibanez and Boss OD's and still kept the SD1. The separate tone controls would be useful. Good god its too much money though.
 
I'll be uploading a vid I'm making if this and the DS-1X tomorrow.

Honestly, really cool pedals. Like the op says, they don't fall apart, even at higher gain settings, and are very tweakable.
 
Interesting... I'm just looking for a nice OD, I'm can't wait for your reviews!
 
This pedal intrigued me I have to admit from some of the clips I watched. :)

Modder's will probably stay away I assume it's surface mount inside.
 
The DS1-x sounds la bomba ! That one surprised me. Would be an excellent pedal for a clean amp. I could def find some usable tones in that thing.

It's pretty badass, honestly. Great low to mid gain drive, sounds extremely natural and organic, which is funny, because people love to hate on digital :)

Say, is the tune at the start something that'll be on your next record ?

When I make another album, I'll probably go back and mine the demo tunes for ideas! I sort of consider them demos for real songs ;)
 
Great demo (as usual), but those seem to be great pedals ! Specially the OD-1X. Gotta get one.

Great Demo ! loved the tone @10:55 ..Had searing high gain with a vintage flavor.
