boss rt 20 rotary

I tried one a long time ago in a store. I remember it sounding bad, to me atleast. If I remember correctly, the built in OD was horrible, and the rotary effect itself was very very digital sounding. Not at all worth the money. If you don't care about the different speeds, I would just go with the Voodoo lab vibe pedal for 1/2 the money of this one. Like I said it has been atleast 3 years since I tried it out, but from memory I would say pass.

Thanks for the input.. They have one at the local music store. It looks pretty cool but a little gimmicky.
I'm trying to copy the leslie on Tools Sober.. Do you think the Deja vibe can get me there?
I dig fulltone stuff so I was headed that way anyway.
 
I honestly think the Dejavibe can cover just about any rotary/univibe sound I have heard. Personally if you are going to spend around $230 for a leslie/univibe pedal, I would go with the dejavibe. It sounded great to me the several time I have played it. The Mojovibe ( forget company) gets alot of praise on here also, but I never used one and believe they are $300 and I am not sure if you want to spend that much.

For me personally, It would be between the voodoo labs microvibe which is around $100 and the dejavibe. The microvibe would be for if you want some more basic sounds, and the deja would be for some extra options. Both shouldn't be too hard to come across in a store somewhere to try out though.

To answer your question, I would say it would do the "sober" effect.

The Deja is nice, but I'd be all over the Prescription vibe unit if I was in the market.
