Episode 6.5: Boss SD-1 Japan vs Taiwan Shootout!

We are switching it up a bit with our first Made in Japan vs Made in Taiwan shootout!

Which is better? The general consensus is that MIJ is the way to go, but is it? The SD-1 can be had for around $50 new and $30 or below used, while an MIJ specimen is $80 and up on the used market. Watch this video, and make up your own mind.

I am keeping the identity of each pedal secret until the very end of the video. This is to keep you guys from listening with any preconceived bias.

Thanks for saving me $50+. On the low input I could hear a very very slight difference but can't pinpoint what, and not big enough to favor one over the other. On the high input I heard zero difference.

To me "b" was a little thin sounding compared to "a" both sound good though. Nice vid!

My understanding is that the SD-1 didn't change when it switched from Japan to Taiwan, but some of the other Boss pedals did change significantly (I think the DS-1 and the DD-3...).
