Brad Gillis- is this a Decatone or Mesa?

I heard he had used either at different times. I read that he used Mesas with Ozzy, so I'm assuming this is a Soldano. The chorus-y sounding thing I don't really dig, but the crunch is just freaky cool.

During the opening riff and at 2:45 you can really hear it.

The costume reminds me of DLR and Richard Simmons

I think he only used Soldano for a while in the 90's. In Night Ranger's heyday it was all Mesa, as it is these days.

Brad Gillis in the 1980's was all about MESA Mark series tone. The red Strat-bodied guitar has a lot of tricks up its sleeve as well. How many professional players have used the same guitar for that many years in a row?

The Mark series amps have never sounded that way to me.... if must be the extreme volume... but I'm sure that's what amp it is ... same tone that Adrian was getting in Whitesnake at the time, which is also supposed to be all Boogie...

i had the MIIB series 300 head which basically evolved into the coliseum. i got punched in the face by that cliff many times.
it went from 1 1/2 to like eleven thousand!!!

the trick for cool tone was plugging the 4 ohm output into an 8 ohm cab.

The key to the Night Ranger sound is the Furman PQ3 and a Boogie. Same as Stryper, just different frequencies boosted or cut.

Doesn't look like it's been brought up, but that red strat he is playing has an Alembic Stratoblaster boost built in to it. Note the strange output jack plate on his guitar. That will definitely play a big role in the sound
