Brand New Splawn Street Rod for $860

So I’ve discovered that if you swap the V type in the DSL40CR for a Warehouse British Invasion 65 (which I presume is a creamback clone?), it instantly TRANSFORMS the amp into full-blown saturated, modded-marshall, shred amp that rivals the 40w street rod combo, and it gets you there for a fraction of the price. Even cheaper if you get the DSL second hand.. Absolutely night and day. Sounds like a different amp altogether with this speaker in it. Just thought I’d pass on the knowledge. I know next to jack diddly shit about gear. But I have at least discovered this much!

I tried 6 different speakers and to many tubes to remember in one of those and I could never get the bottom end to stop sounding like wet cardboard. Sounded very mediocre, nothing like a Splawn, no, not even close. But I'm glad your happy with it.

Had that exact same problem with my old one. That’s why I got rid of it. Warehouse British solved that for me.

Why compare to a Street Rod? Splawn is a a hand built in the USA amp, Marshall is mass produced in Viet Nam. Your fooling yourself if you think a speaker swap is going to make them equal.
