I have an original Floyd. What size Upgrade do I need?
I see them sell them in 32 mm, 37mm and 42mm......
this is just the length correct? Simply measure the one I got now?
Seems like a retarted question but want to make sure I get the right one and I know some guys have them here.

Any help is appreciated.

Dan

just measure the block from the bottom of the bridge plate

It should say it but also measure it because you might be able to fit a bigger one in there. I was able to go up a size when I measured mine.

If you have room get the next size up. The more metal you have the better the sustane. I put a 42 on a Strat body and it fits fine.

Thanks for the tips guys!
I had one that was too short and the springs were GRINDING into the wood body...

Going to get one this weekend.

I got a 37 for my Charvel, because that's what was in there before. I bet I could have fit a 42 though. Next time...

I swapped out a floyd in the past and it had a larger(longer) block on it.
The springs wouldnt stay connected. They kept sliding out of the block since they werent flush. I had to swap the blocks out on it.
Guess I need to get the exact size.....just wasnt sure if the 37mm etc was a straight measurement of the block or what.

Mine should be in the mail today, got the 37 which was stamped on the one in my Charvel. I'm not expecting miracles, just hope I get more sustain out of that sucker. I'll report back after the install.

Cool!
Yeah I am not expecting MUCH difference....

I will NOTICE IT! :D

99.9% of the time when the springs wont stay attached, the block is in backwards.

Dan...

Measure it, and put the biggest one you can fit... You have to allow room for movement... So use the bar as you would while playing, and watch how much clearence is left...

I put a HUGE "L" shaped in My Charvel and it Made the thing Sing like a Bird.... I had to Route the shit out of the body though.... Don't be afraid though, just get a Dremel
and GO FOR IT!

I painted the cavity with matching paint afterwards... You wouldn't even know I made the cavity 3 times the size!

Just measure it with a stick ruler then calculate 1mm = 1/32 , 2mm = 1/16, 3mm = 3/32, 4mm = 1/8 , 25mm = 1 inch , ect,ect....

I just looked at the back of the block and it has the number 34 on it.
I measured it in inches and its......... 1 and 5/16 inches.
I tried to convert it to the MM......but I keep coming up with weird numbers....
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!
what is it in MM?
The sizes offered are 32 mm 37mm and 42 mm....

34? If it's a dinky I would think it would be 37, that's what mine is. Do you know what model bridge it is? Some Jackson bridges have specific sizes depending on the model. You might have one of the ones where there's a particular custom block that you need.

You're @ 33mm Bro...

The Idea is to go BIGGER.... So 37mm MIN I went for the 42mm L block... But you will have to CUT WOOD!
